The Dalai lama says very clearly in this video:
1. The monks we need to expel, you should expel.
2. I rejoice in you expelling the monks that need to be expelled because they won’t relinquish their practice of Dorje Shugden.
We need to make everyting very ‘clean’.

That is amazing!! How can the Dalai Lama ban any sort of religious worship. He says we wishes democracy. He encourages the Monasteries to expel monks who do not conform and to force the lay ppl to also abandon their worship. Whatever your religion or form of worship, a Tibetan is a Tibetan and they should not be ostracized or singled out due to their religious orientation by the Dalai Lama. This video shows clearly that the Dalai Lama is banning and enforcing the ban and encouraging.

One of the most basic realities of Tibetan Buddhism in the West, is that it Will probably morph into a more “Protestant Ethic”. By this I mean that, as Martin Luther stood up against the institution and teaching of the Catholic Church, by insisting that no organization was necessary to be the “middleman” between the lay person and God or Jesus; and as this also the view in the U.S. Constitution, American-Tibetan Buddhism will have to discard Tibetan cultural superstition and biases to evolve into its own unique form of Buddhism. It’s necessarily a long an arduous process.😌.
