Rabten Choeling is situated 820m above sea-level, high above the lake of Geneva, on Mont-Pèlerin above Vevey, with a great view on the alps of Wallis and Savoy.
The centre is an Institute for Higher Tibetan studies as well as an authentic Tibetan-Buddhist monastery with about thirty monks and five nuns and twenty lay students.
It is an international school with students from 14 different countries. The monks follow the Vinaya-rules and perform the daily prayers, the monastic rites like confession, summer-retreat, and monthly pujas.

For a Tibetan Buddhist temple that is established in the west, Rabten Choeling has quite a number of monks as can be seen from the video. This is an encouraging sign. It shows that Buddhism is growing and the Sangha is receiving support for its activities. Rabten Rinpoche was a close disciple of Trijang Rinpoche.

Sarah, I cannot agree with you further. By just watching the video, it brings peace to my mind and heart. I am very happy to know the Buddha Dharma is growing in the West and deep rooted in our Gelug tradition.
May their works flourish and grow forever more.
