It is very interesting His Holiness the Dalai Lama a monk, scholar, erudite master and a very down to earth and logical person also consults ancient oracles for his decision making.
The first deity he consults through the oracle is Nechung, who is known to be an unenlightened being. This is very fascinating also. You can read about the wordly spirit Nechung here: /?p=5609
If Dalai Lama is to ban deities entering oracles to speak as in the case of Dorje Shugden, how come Nechung is allowed to enter a Oracle to speak. And also Dalai Lama himself is consulting the spirit Nechung via the oracle in his private quarters as in the video? I am not looking to find fault with Dalai Lama or asking for criticism, but was wondering why two rules? Or two standards? His Holiness Dalai Lama asks us to trust Lord Buddha and not go into ‘spirit worship’ or get involved with spirits. What is happening here?

I watched the video. I like Dalai Lama’s statement when he said that consulting an oracle like Nechung is just another input to his decision making. At the end, he is the one who is making the decision. This is totally logical since Dalai Lama is an enlightened being in the nature of Chenrezig. He cannot totally rely on unenlightened being for his decision making.
We, human being, sometimes put our reliance on Oracle’s response to our queries more than our Lama, which does not make sense. All our good qualities come from our Lama.
Back to the question why he does not allow Dorje Shugden Practice while he is allowing Nechung. The fact that he is banning the Dorje Shugden Practice increases our curiosity even more about who is Dorje Shugden. His nature, where he came from, his history. There are many of us who will not know about Dorje Shugden without the Dalai Lama banning the practice.
This is the most logical explanation Nechung is consulted only to give input to Dalai Lama’s decision making process and Dalai Lama banning Dorje Shugden practice make this enlightened protectors even more famous than ever.
